Sometime around October, shortly after I started smoking again - not that it's related! - I picked up a very nasty case of bronchitis. I know it was serious because I decided to go to a doctor. (I'm one of those ... men ... who have to have their leg chopped off just above the knee before I go to the doctor.)
He gave me a shot of something (I didn't read the fine print to tell you what it was), prescribed two weeks' worth of an antibiotic (again, I didn't .... nevermind) and four months' worth of Singulair. The shot and the antibiotic were to clear up the bronchitis, and the Singulair was to keep the bronchitis away through the winter months.
After the third month on the Singulair, the weather turned really nice here in sunny southern Indiana. And I was feeling great, so I figured, "Hey, I'm OK! I don't need to take the Singulair anymore!"
Well, I wasn't OK. After about three weeks off the Singulair, I started getting the fluid in my lungs again. It's not too intense yet - I can still sleep through the night, and it only becomes noticeable when I inhale or exhale very deeply. But it's starting to get more serious.
So ... back to the doctor today. Frickin' bronchitis. I'm sure that there will be a lecture about smoking sometime during the visit. Not that it's related.
